Katinka Simonse (aka TINKEBELL) is a controversial artist from Amsterdam who has gained notoriety by calling attention to animal rights issues with works using both dead and live animals. Other works present ironic commentary on the contrast between the worlds of pornography and public debate. With the "Save the Girls" calendar, TINKEBELL's focus is on two cousins in Manila who work as dancers and escorts to support their family. The girls dream of a better life, getting an education and starting careers.
